It’s the time of year that seniors at Sierra Pacific High School are getting excited to graduate. They are also excited for events that are about to happen.
One of the most hyped senior events is coming up for the students that will attend Grad Nite at Disneyland May 31, 2026.
How excited were students? Some chose to wait in line hours before tickets even went on sale Feb. 2. with seniors not wanting to miss out. While the event didn’t initially sell out, it has since even with a $357 price ticket.
The people waiting in line stated that some of the seniors arrived as early as 4 a.m. on a school day to secure their spot in line with tickets going on sale at 7 a.m. Though it might be really hard to wake up that early in the morning, students found the waiting fun.
People were seen bringing chairs and blankets and even cooking gear to make breakfast while waiting.
Senior Justin Le said he had arrived at the school around 5:30 a.m. to make sure he would be able to purchase a ticket before they sold out.
“I came early to not take any risks on tickets being sold out by the time I got there at a later time,” Le wrote.
Despite it being early morning, Le described the atmosphere as being surprisingly calm. “Everyone was laid back and quiet,” he said.
While the line may have started off by being quiet, many students found many creative ways of keeping themselves occupied while waiting in line. Perhaps one of the most unexpected things that Le saw while waiting in line that morning was someone cooking breakfast.
“Someone brought out an entire grill to make breakfast,” Le said.
Another Sierra Pacific Senior, Jasmine Perez also decided to arrive early to guarantee she would get a ticket. Perez said she got to the school at around 6 a.m.
Perez said the overall mood of the students waiting in the line as relaxed and with no no chaos.
“Everyone looked like they were chilling,” she said.
Although the wait was long, the excitement for the Disneyland trip made it worth it for many students. For many students, it is one of the last opportunities to celebrate with their classmates before graduation and saying a long goodbye to this high school experience.
Le said he is especially excited because it will be his second time visiting Disneyland.
“Im really excited,” he said adding that he is looking forward to the food and rides.
Jasmine also shared with me that she is excited for the trip and can’t wait to experience the rides with her classmates.
With students willing to wake up before sunrise and wait for hours just to buy tickets. It becomes crystal clear that Grad Nite is certainly one of the most anticipated events of senior year at Sierra Pacific High School. The long waiting line, the early morning energy to get up, and even the unexpected breakfast cooking in the line all show us how excited students are for the upcoming celebration in Disneyland.
