The amphitheater at Sierra Pacific is being renovated for the first time after it was built 13 years ago. Darin Parson, the principal at Sierra Pacific, and the Hanford district school board decided to make a shade over the amphitheater. Right after students came back from spring break, it was all caged up so no one could go in there.
It was a good idea for the principal to decide to make the shade but out of all the times why didn’t he choose a month in fall so by the time its spring and summer it would already be built. They started making it before students came back from spring break and it doesn’t seem like they’re working on it. It’s still looking the same as when students came back. By the time they finish building the shade, we’re already going to be out of school or at least close to being out of school. A lot of people used to hang out by the amphitheater, mostly during the break, so it would be good if they finished it soon so the students that would normally hang out there get to go back.
846 students attending Sierra Pacific high school and while there are a lot of trees for shade, the leaves aren’t always going to be there leaving many students in the heat. It’s good that the school is making a shade because now many more people will be able to cool off. The temperatures in Hanford vary from 26 degrees to 95 degreesand it sometimes goes above 104 degrees. 80to 90 degrees is already very hot so imagine if it’s above 90 degrees, it can cause muscle cramps, moist skin, pale skin, nausea, and a fever
The cover for the amphitheater is also good for when it’s raining. When it’s raining, students only rely on the cafeteria and not everyone can fit in there due to the lack of tables and chairs. The amphitheater is really big and can cover a big amount of space so when they add the shade many students don’t have to be soaking wet when they arrive at class. This can also help students from catching a cold, if they’re less wet it won’t weaken their body making them not vulnerable to bacteria as a person that’s extremely wet from the rain.
It’s honestly been making Sierra Pacific look ugly seeing it not even being renovated and just caged up in the middle of the school. In spring all the trees and flowers finally grow back making the outside area look pretty but besides all of that you just see a caged-up area and it makes everything look tacky. Instead of adding a whole caged fence around a big area, they should just add something else like cones around the area. When upcoming freshmen see the school they’re going to see the amphitheater and think how tacky our school is.
Some parents might think that it’s good for them to be renovating the amphitheater for their children that are going to be becoming freshmen in the 2022/2023 school year. Parents usually think about the future and if they do see the amphitheater being renovated, they’ll think about how nice it’s going to look when it’s finished. It is good for them because when they arrive in August 2022 the amphitheater is probably going to be built by then and they’re going to be able to hang out there. Most middle schoolers don’t have amphitheaters at their school so when they see a nice amphitheater they’re going to love Sierra Pacific.
The students at Sierra Pacific are going to have to see the amphitheater by the end of the school year, it’s going to be good to wait to see the finishing result. They’re going to have a big shade for many different occasions like when it’s raining or when it is blazing hot outside. Many groups are going to be able to hang out there so students are looking forward to seeing it being finished.
