Command Zone Games and Hobbies, a small but still expansive store for fans of all things card games, table-top games, or consoles. This store is almost certain to have what you want for a reasonable price, and if they can’t find it, they are more than willing to order for you at no extra cost. Any fan will find what they need to continue enjoying their hobbies!
Located on 140 S 11th Ave in Hanford, California, this store packs quite the selection of miniatures, paints, play-mats, plushies, and of course, dice, along with much more. Fans of “Dungeons and Dragons” (D&D), “Magic: The Gathering” (MTG), “Warhammer” (Fantasy and 40K), and fans of Gundam anime will all be able to find something they enjoy in this store with neat sections for their wares, with their D&D and Warhammer sections being some of the larger attractions. Its selection of paints and hobby tools is also just as nice, having many products from both Army painter and Citadel, anyone can find exactly what they need from the tiniest brush to the biggest of drill bits, and all the paints and tape measurers in between.
Walking into the store, people are first greeted by the racks of D&D miniatures, where all sorts of miniatures may be found ranging from Grunggs to menacing dragons. All the models they have displayed are from a variety of different providers and many come pre-primed or pre-painted should a buyer have a preference. Other larger boxes of content can be found as well such as the Deck of Many Things, paint sets with a miniature, location boxes, campaign books, token, playmats and other player or Dungeon Master needs.
Just at the back of the store across from the previously mentioned section, the paints and hobby tools, with some nice “Warhammer” based literature as well. Both Citadel and Army Painter brands can be found, like brushes, paints, basing material, drill bits, and any other good-to-have tools to make models shine!
In the corner adjacent to the paints, the “Warhammer” section beckons all fans of the grim-dark fantasy settings of “Age of Sigmar” and 40K, with many models kits (with nicer pries compared to the brand’s parent company), rule books for factions, custom dice, and data cards, this spot is always being updated with the latest kits and books, and given the expanse of both series, if they don’t have what you’re looking for they’ll order it for you for prices similar to what they already offer.
In the remaining half of the store sits the Gundam sections with scale models and other fan paraphernalia, along with a space for used game consoles and games, such as XBOX 360s, Playstation 2 and 3s, Game Cubes, and several others. To top this off too, a nice row of plushies from all manners of cartoons, comics, and even stand-alone ones.
The true attraction of the store, the play tables, which are free for use by anyone. These tables can be used for MTG games, D&D sessions, or some matches of Warhammer. There are even terrain and objective markers for the Warhammer matches that are also free to use, along with some models for test play. Games can be played from the moment they open to the moment they close, which is most often 12 p.m to 6 p.m.
With friendly staff and even friendlier store-goers, they are always willing to help customers in finding what they need or if they ask a rules question on a game that they may enjoy playing, they are extremely respectful, polite, and quick with what they do. This shop has become a hit for fans of all genres and games, and is a great hangout spot for passing the day away, with the store even hosting some tournaments with its community and offering large cash prizes for the winners. And with such a large selection, they’d be surprised if they couldn’t find or buy anything a customer would like.
