“Trolls Band Together” is an absolute knockout when it comes to entertainment. The film is a sequel to the movie “Trolls World Tour ” which was released back in 2020, the day before the world went on lockdown because of COVID-19. The series has always been adored by anticipated fans who were wondering when it was gonna return. Nonetheless, the movie series came back better than ever with this new film. “Trolls Band Together” is an encouraging, funny and bouncy cinematic masterpiece that we can dive into as one.
Starting from the beginning, the movie was released in the United States on Nov. 17, 2023. Since then the film has grossed about $208 million worldwide. What really made this movie over the top compared to the past sequels is its soundtrack. With artists such as the band NSYNC and Justin Timberlake who plays the character Branch, you can imagine how high-spirited each track was. The tracks “Better Place” and “Brozone’s Back” were fan favorites. Actor Andrew Rannells who plays Veneer and Brianna Mazzola who co-plays the voice of Velvet also brought a huge impact to this. For instance, the songs “Watch Me Work” and “Mount Rageous” became popular due to the harmony within them, totally making fans forget they are the villains.
The film’s settings are almost as exciting as the trolls themselves. The use of bright colors and flashing lights truly captivates whatever audience is watching. Troll Village, where all of the pop trolls reside, is such a colorful, vibrant place. Vacay Island, a tropical paradise outside of Bergen Town where Vacaytioners live is this beautiful, gleeful place trolls go to have fun in the sun. Another key factor in the movie’s settings is also the mood of the scenes. We can see sometimes when watching that based on the glum feelings of a character, the colors tend to be more cool-toned compared to the more warm-toned joyous theme we’re familiar with. This also applies to the soundtrack too.
The direction of this movie transpired as well. The director, Walt Dohrn, made it his mission to make a creative, diverse, imaginative storyline. Although this may have not caught adults’ or teenagers’ attention, children are very captivated by trolls themselves. From the beginning to the end of the film, the characters make the story so interesting because of their designs. American singer-songwriter, Camila Cabello, played the troll Viva. With Cabello’s striking voice, she was sure to catch the attention of all of those watching. In return, the storyline carried on admirably.
Overall, the effectiveness of the plot was outstanding. It was super fun, with lots of catchy music and energetic hues. We finally got to see the musical trolls going on a new adventure. Facing challenges, spreading positivity and of course plenty of singing and dancing along the way. It’s a feel-good movie that will most definitely put a smile on the face of whoever is watching, even the elderly. This gem is available to stream on platforms like Youtube, Apple TV and Vudu. Saying this film is just enjoyable is an understatement, if you’re into adventures, it’s certainly worth the watch.
