Fun things to do in Hanford

Urban Air in the Hanford Mall is one fun thing to do in town.

Here in Hanford, there is not much to do, but still some fun things to do around the town. All year round, they have multiple fun activities that everyone can participate in. People love walking around, especially downtown, all throughout the year because of how beautiful it is here. They are trying to make downtown look even better than it does now by adding some flowers here and there. Also, the city is trying to make Hanford cleaner and use the empty buildings for new stores or food places.

It gets very popular during the winter months though. Winter Wonderland starts, a parade with all the high school students in band and color guard happens, fun decorations all around town, and of course, Christmas.

“I love going to the Winter Wonderland with my friends and family because there are like many games to play, food stands and there is even an ice rink that many people enjoy going on,” she said.

It is free to walk around the area but the ice rink is $10 per person. A lot of people would agree that winter is very fun here in Hanford and just love the Christmas spirit and decorations all throughout the town. 

Summer is when it gets extra fun. In the Hanford Mall parking lot, they set up a carnival or fair area and there are small rides, a ferris wheel, games and a bunch of food stands. Restaurants and coffee places start coming out with limited drinks and food, public pools start opening up again and those fun late night bike rides with your friends can finally make a comeback.

At the Hanford Mall, there is also a trampoline park called ‘Urban Air’ and it also includes an arcade area and a place to buy snacks, drinks, or candy.

To go jump around, you pay around $22  per ticket. A lot of parents take their kids there for a few hours because time flies by when the children are jumping around or playing on the obstacle course. Many would say it is probably one of the more popular areas in the whole mall itself other than the food court and the movie theater. The movie theater is also a very popular hangout area and the theater plays the most up-to-date movies. 

A lot of people also enjoy hanging out at food places like restaurants, fast food areas, or even the Hanford Mall’s food court. A popular place that many hang out at the most would probably be Chili’s.

Many families, friends, and even couples come here a lot. The food court at the mall is also very popular because there are many different options of food there and plenty of seats to sit at with whoever you’re with. They have many different types of food like Chinese food, Mexican food, seafood, boba, and even frozen yogurt.

There are plenty of parks all around Hanford. A few parks here are Hidden Valley, Freedom, Burris, and many more. A lot of teenagers walk around the parks just to hang out with their friends. Of course, parents do bring their kids since these parks do have playground areas for them to play on. There are also ducks at Hidden Valley Park. A lot of people stop by to feed them bread and crackers every now and then. The animals at the parks are always given food by people around town and it is very nice to see people so caring do that every so often.
