
Students at Sierra Pacific High School can get a chance to design the school’s new food truck.
The truck, which will help reduce lines at the school’s cafe at break and lunch, will feature the winner of the school’s design contest to decorate the truck.
The contest is open to all Sierra Pacific students with the truck needing to have a Sierra Pacific themed digital design. Design elements should include the truck’s hood panel, two side doors and two door panels along with a name for the truck.
The deadline to enter the contest is Friday, Dec. 5.

Cinderella project
Students from Hanford Joint Union High School District who need a dress for the upcoming formal can get one for free through the Cinderella Project of Hanford.
Upon entry, students will need to show a valid school ID from one of the HJUHSD campuses. New and gently used dresses will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
The event is at the HJUHSD District Office located at 300 W. Sixth St. Tuesday, Nov. 25 from 5-8 p.m.
Intramurals
Volleyball intramurals start Dec. 2.
Games will be 6 vs. 6 with each team allowed four subs. Two girls must be on the court at all times during matches.
Games will be played Tuesdays and Thursdays at lunch.
Anyone that is interested in signing up a team is ask to see Mr. Cabrera or Mr. Snyder in the office.
Band, choir students earn honors
Six Sierra Pacific music students will head to California All-State Music Education Conference in January to perform with the ensembles after being selected as all-state members.
Students named all-state in choir were Gerardo Callejas II, Karly Wise, Mollie Schuller and Jacob Kane.
Students named all-stand in band were Luke Woods and Brody Budge.
Each student was one of more than 3,500 students across the entire state that auditioned.
Lane places at chess event
Sierra Pacific freshman Joshua Lane became the first student to compete and place in an interscholastic chess tournament.
Lane placed second as an individual while competing in the High School Kickoff chess tournament on Nov. 15. He won six out of his seven matches to secure the runner-up position.
