This year on Friday, Sept. 24 at 5 a.m. Apple released the new iPhone 13 series consisting of the iPhone 13 Pro Max, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13, and the iPhone 13 Mini. The goal of Apple was to give the public a new iPhone with enjoyable features and designs starting as simple as the color options. Some of these happen to be newer colors that Apple is providing for the first time such as the pink color on the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini which seems to have caught the eye of numerous customers.
The sizing among these phones differs depending on the type of phone. The point in this is to enhance the All-screen OLED display². The smallest phone, iPhone 13 Mini, is 5.4 inches and the largest is the iPhone 13 Pro Max that is 6.7 inches. The difference in sizes can be convenient for different people. Although they are all the same phone series, the larger the phone the more features and details it comes with. In this case, the iPhone 13 Pro Max has everything advertised by Apple.
Within the cameras on the iPhone 13 Pro Max & iPhone Pro, there are new photography and videography components that are the main additions from the previous iPhones. One of these being, the macro zooming in on the ultra-wide camera. This camera, according to Apple, can “…focus at just 2 cm –making even the smallest details seem epic.”
This camera is able to clearly capture tiny details that are hard for the naked eye to see. To see these small things it mostly depends on the positioning of the iPhone. It is meant to be held very close to the object to where it is not needed to zoom in on your camera. There is only so much that can be seen with the camera but for what it is described to be capable of it does accomplish that. There are no other purposes for this to be used other than hard to see features on objects, but it is nice for those rare moments when it would be necessary to have it on hand.
Aside from the photos, the videos are updated with a new cinematic mode that is able to transition the focus of the video and slightly blur the rest of the framing. This is supposed to create a more creative way to record off of the phone in your hands with simple objects or subjects around or near.
This new videography feature is an entertaining and more advanced way of recording videos. When a subject is picked to focus on it creates a clear and clean transition into it almost as good as the movies. The only bug of this feature is that unless you tap everything you want in focus, the phone will assume what is the subject which gets irritating when there are multiple people or things in the frame of the video.
From the relevant information, the iPhone 13 series has its ups and downs and is worth purchasing for more creative iPhone users. The qualities are considered more on the enjoyable side depending on how you use them. Other than the mentioned features there are not many new things added to these phones compared to Apple’s previous iPhone 12 series. It is the same iPhone experience in a new form that most audiences will tend to appreciate and have a great experience with.
