The Sierra Pacific football team dominated Hanford West 47-12 to end its season on a winning note Oct. 30 by winning its annual Clash of the Claws rivalry game for the third straight year.
Going into the game, Sierra Pacific and Hanford West had split eight all-time meetings between the two teams. The Golden Bears now lead the all-time series 5-4.
Only leading 19-12 at the half, Sierra Pacific outscored the Huskies 28-0 after the break to pull away for the victory.
With the win, Sierra Pacific ends the season 4-6 overall and 1-3 in Tri-County Sequoia League play with the team failing to qualify for the Central Section playoffs.
The loss dropped Hanford West to 0-10 overall on the season for its third straight winless season.
Boys water polo
Sierra Pacific, which earned the No. 1 seed in the Central Section Division III playoffs, won its first two playoff games to advance to the semifinals.
Sierra Pacific will host No. 4 Bakersfield Nov. 12 at 6 p.m.
The winner will play in the Section championship game Nov. 15 at Sierra Pacific.
The Golden Bears opened the playoffs with a 15-8 win over No. 16 Selma before defeating No. 8 Monache 21-14 Nov. 6.
Sierra Pacific is now 20-9 overall on the season.
In the other semifinal, No. 2 Tulare Western faces No. 3 Frontier (Bakersfield).
Volleyball
The Golden Bears ended their season with a fourth straight loss Oct. 23 to rival Hanford West to end the year 9-16 overall and 3-5 in the Tri-County Sequoia League.
Against the Huskies, Sierra Pacific fell 3-1 (25-16, 25-16, 24-26, 25-21) as the Golden Bears failed to make the Central Section playoffs.
Boy tennis
Sierra Pacific begins practice for its 2026 spring season Monday, Nov. 10. at 4-6 p.m. at the Sierra Pacific tennis courts.

A mandatory parent meeting for players on the Sierra Pacific baseball team will be held Nov. 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sierra Pacific library.
