Multiple Sierra Pacifici athletic teams earned academic honors after posting high team GPAs during the fall 2025 season.
The Central Section announced the 2025 fall Academic Team Awards with Sierra Pacific’s girls golf, girls cross country and girls water polo teams making the list.
In girls golf, Sierra Pacific posted the second highest team GPA with an average of 3.85, just behind Mission College Prep (3.94).
In girls water polo, the Golden Bears tied for fourth with an average of 3.75. Stockdale posted a perfect 4.0 average.
And in girls cross country, Sierra Pacific was second with a team average of 3.90, posting the highest GPA of any team at the school.
Track and field
The first day of conditioning for all non-winter sports athletes is Monday, Feb. 4 on the Sierra Pacific track. Athletes must bring running shoes and running gear.
A parent meeting will be held Wednesday, Feb. 4 in the Sierra Pacific library at 7 p.m.
Girls basketball
The Sierra Pacific girls basketball team jumped out to 28-2 after the first quarter and never let up in a 79-10 blowout win over rival Hanford West Jan. 12.
The Golden Bears led 55-3 at the half.
Sierra Pacific is now 9-11 overall and 1-1 in league play.
The team’s next game is Friday at home against Reedley.
Boys basketball
The Golden Bears improved to 11-7 on the season after a 76-70 overtime victory over Immanuel.
Sierra Pacific plays Kingsburg late Jan. 14. Results were not known at the time this was written.
The Golden Bears play at Central Valley Christian Jan. 16 at 6:30 p.m.
Boys soccer
Dominick Pimentel scored twice and Julian Lopez added a goal as the Golden Bears defeated Immanuel 3-2 Jan. 12.
Sierra Pacific is now 5-5-5 overall and 2-0 in league play.
The Bears next game is at Kingsburg Jan. 15 at 6 p.m.
Girls soccer
Brianna Patino scored Sierra Pacific’s lone goal in a 1-1 tie to Central Valley Christian Jan. 12.
Sierra Pacific is now 5-5-2 overall and 0-0-1 in league play.
Sierra Pacific played rival Hanford West late Jan. 14. Results were unknown at the time of this report.
