Jamie Rogers had been Sierra Pacific High School’s new Principal after applying for and officially getting the job on July 1, 2023. Rogers stated that she decided to apply for the job because her children went to Sierra Pacific and that she was familiar with the job.
“I always had the desire to go back to high school.” Rogers said.
She previously had a job as principal at Pioneer Middle school. She also used to work as a high school teacher, counselor, and administrator before going to Pioneer Middle School.
She said, “So I always had the desire to go back to high school and when the position in SP opened up, it seemed like a great opportunity since I lived in the community, my kids went to school here and I’m familiar with the school. I thought I would be a good fit, So that’s why I applied here In SP.”
Rogers expresses how much she likes it here and how everyone makes her feel. “I love it here. I’m very happy with the choice I made. One of the really nice things about coming here is that a lot of the students were my students at Pioneer. So I know a lot of kids, so It feels very familiar.”
All three of Roger’s kids attended Sierra Pacific High School and all had graduated out of different years. “I had a 2020 graduate and I had two that graduated in 2023. They are all now in college.”
All of Roger’s kids are in college now studying what they want to be. She states, “One wants to work in health care, one wants to be a mechanical engineer and the motor sports, and one wants to be an agricultural engineer in the Agricultural industry.”
Rogers said: “They should know that I have very high expectations of students for academics and behavior. They should know that it is my goal to help them become the very best version of themselves and to leave Sierra Pacific High School with a plan for the future whatever may be for them, but to be able to say with certainty as they graduate. That they have a plan. They’re either going to college, they’re going to go to work, they’re going to join the military. That will help them have a very successful future.”
