The Sierra Pacific boys basketball team went a perfect 4-0 on its way to winning the Parlier basketball tournament this past week.
The Golden Bears notched victories over Foothill (72-24), Yosemite (80-30), Wasco 98-21 before beating Highland 69-36 in the championship game Dec. 13.
Against Highland, Sierra Pacific led just 16-12 after the first quarter before outscoring its opponent 17-6 in the second to start to pull away.
For the game, John Umscheid led the Bears in scoring with 19 points while Hideo Yamaura added 11 points, nine assists and six steals.
Sierra Pacific is now 7-4 on the season. The Golden Bears open play in the Tulare tournament Dec. 17 against Granite Hills.
Boys soccer
The Golden Bears picked up their first two wins of the season, defeating Hanford West 3-0 and Tulare Union 4-1 Dec. 12-13.
Sierra Pacific also tied Mt. Whitney 1-1 Dec. 13.
Sierra Pacific improved to 2-5-5 on the season. The Golden Bears play at Hoover in Fresno Dec. 19.
Girls soccer
Sierra Pacific defeated Edison 1-0 to win its third straight game Dec. 13.
The Golden Bears are now 5-2-1 overall. They play at Matilda Torres Dec. 19.
