Despite the Sierra Pacific girls golf team not advancing to the Central Section team championships, the Golden Bears displayed resilience throughout the 2025 season.
Going into the season, Sierra Pacific player Olivia Rioux didn’t know what to expect from the team with the team’s roster having a slew of new players.
“I’m happy we were able to fill those spots with new players,” Rioux said.
Early in the season, Sierra Pacific found success in its first scramble of the season, finishing in the top third of the teams.
Golden Bears head coach Chris Mesa said the team was able to learn from their experiences while competing in the Tri-County Conference.
“Overall, the girls did really well, and they learned a lot,” Mesa said. “They did really great and got along.”
At Ridge Creek Golf Course, Sierra Pacific finished fifth out of 15 teams on Aug, 26, posting a team score of 291.
The team also had some struggles, losing to Pioneer Valley by nearly 50 strokes.
At the TCC championship, Sierra Pacific failed to advance to the playoffs.
“I was a bit nervous for the TCC championship,” Rioux explains.
With the end of the season, Sierra Pacific will now have to wait until 2026 to see if they can improve of 2025.
