After winning the first two sets, the Sierra Pacific volleyball team was at risk of losing to rival Hanford West this past week.
The Golden Bears, however, were able to hold on and win a thriller Tuesday, Oct. 14.
The Huskies rallied to win the third and fourth sets before Sierra Pacific clinched the victory with a win in the fifth, holding off the Huskies 28-26, 25-21, 24-26, 20-25, 16-14.
With the win, Sierra Pacific improved to 8-12 overall and 2-2 in Tri-County Sequoia League play.
While a scheduled game against Exeter was cancelled on Oct. 9, Sierra Pacific’s next game is Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 6 p.m. at home against Kerman.
Boys water polo
The Golden Bears held on to beat Strathmore 14-12 in a nail-biter Thursday, Oct. 9.
Sierra Pacific’s overall record now stands at 16-7 overall and 2-2 in the Tri-County League.
The Golden Bears will celebrate senior night Thursday, Oct. 16 against Exeter at 5 p.m.
Girls water polo
Sierra Pacific dominated Strathmore to take a 16-3 win in Tri-Country League play on Thursday, Oct. 9.
The Golden Bears are now 14-8 overall and 3-1 in TCL play.
The girls will also honor their seniors on Thursday, Oct. 16 at 6 p.m.
Girls golf
The Sierra Pacific girls golf team took a hard loss to host Exeter last Thursday.
Exeter finished with a team score of 199 while Sierra Pacific finished at 213.
Addy McCoy led Sierra Pacific with a low score of 35. She was followed by Bailey Bush (39), Alyssa George (43), Olivia Rioux (47), Abby Loya (49), and Raegan Huddleston (49).
The Golden Bears will venture to the Ridgecreek Golf Course in Dinuba Oct. 13 to compete at the TCC Championship at 9 a.m.
