The tennis season for the Sierra Pacific boys’ tennis team is up and running.
This year’s team includes some of their top returning players including Viktor Lopez, Ben Rogado, and Aiyush Rayani. While Rayani has been injured and unable to play, the team has been trying to find a balance with how to set its lineup.
With the team’s first match on Feb. 12 leading to a loss, players this as motivation to push themselves to play better and be better as a team and will use this loss to drive their motivation to win the next upcoming games.
The boys’ tennis team has been working hard and getting ready for the upcoming season since their loss because they are disappointed in how they played they know they are better and wish to continue the legacy from last year because they went undefeated but lost it all to sanger in the playoffs and happened to lose to them on their first game this season. they’re all ready to see how they do when they go against other teams and have people watching them again because they say their number one enemy was being nervous this last game.
Their new coach, Jules Amores, has this to say about them after working with them for the past few months and getting to know them.
“I feel excited about this season even though they lost they should be proud of themselves no matter what and should use this for motivation. They have a lot of potential and I believe they could be something with the right training and enough effort and I am proud and excited to be able to work with them.”
Rogado has some of the same feelings and even has words of encouragement to give to the team and thoughts on the new coach.
“I am definitely excited and hyped for this season. He expects everyone to win and to improve with every game. I hope that the future generation of Sierra Pacific finds the drive and passion the current generation feels so they can love and continue our win streak when we’re gone,” Rogado said.
Rogado added that he’s excited about what the team will become and how they will perform for the rest of the season. He even has his own little good luck charm for every season
“I like to think every good season starts with a loss to Sanger.” he says.
Every one on the team is excited and ready for upcoming games and the season. They have been enjoying playing tennis with everyone else, making close relationships with everyone, and getting to know them along the way. This is a big season for the Varsity team because this is the last season for almost all the Varsity players. They want to go as hard as they can this season, make it their best season and show how good they are. Every player is trying their best this season and they all want to be at their best performance and be the top player on the team and they’re trying their hardest to rise through the ranks to be the best.
