
Brooklyn Webb went 2-for-2 with three runs scored and a stolen base, leading the Sierra Pacific softball team to its fifth straight win April 1 as the Golden Bears defeated Exeter 5-3.
Sierra Pacific tallied just six hits in the game with Miranda Reyes also going 2-for-4 with a run scored and a triple.
The Golden Bears led 2-0 after three innings before Exeter was able to cut into the lead with a run of its own in the bottom of the fourth. However, Sierra Pacific added three runs in the top of the fifth then held on for the win.
Sierra Pacific’s Haidyn Cota earned the win in the circle, going seven innings and allowing just two hits while striking out three and walking three.
With the win, the Golden Bears improved to 7-5 on the season. Previous to beating Exeter, Sierra Pacific had tallied wins against Coalinga, Lemoore, Fresno and Mission Oak.
Sierra Pacific played Sanger West April 2 (results unknown at time of publication) and hosts Central Valley Christian April 4 at 4 p.m. After that game, Sierra Pacific travels across town to rival Hanford April 7.
